Although the apps carry the Outlook name, they do not follow the same process as other Outlook-branded email applications when it comes to conforming to contractual agreements between Cornell and Microsoft.
On January 29, 2015, Microsoft released a new Outlook app for iOS, including iPad, iPhone, and other devices from Apple, and a similar app for Android devices (not to be confused with the OWA apps released in 2013 and discussed below). Sign in to Outlook Web App at:\n \n\nAn OWA app is also available on the app stores for the devices and not affected by the concerns relating to the new Outlook apps.\n\nIt is possible to use the device's built-in email features to connect to the Office 365 system, as well.\nFor iPhone or iPad, please see:\n \nFor Android devices, please see:\n Discussions are being set up with Microsoft representatives to review the major issues that currently make use of these apps at Cornell inadvisable, and whether there is any way to resolve those issues.\n\nAs an alternative, directing the web browser on your iPad, iPhone, or Android device to Outlook Web App (OWA) provides web-based access to many of Office 365's email and calendar features. These agreements were set up to ensure the university's information is secure and handled in accordance with Cornell policy, as well as laws and regulations.\n\nFor these reasons, it is recommended to not install the new Outlook app for iOS or Android at this time.
